THE SMILE

I was trying to get a quote from Gabriel.  I started by asking him why he loved New York.

“The ethnic food.”

“Tell me something about yourself that would surprise those that know you.”

“I’m not sure.”

“What are your plans for Valentine’s day?”

“It’s my birthday.  I’m not sure, but I’ll figure it out.”

“Will you be spending Valentine’s day with someone special?”

Gabriel blushed and said that he would be.  At this point I am pretty sure Gabriel thought I was about to ask him out.  

This is the smile of an embarrassed man.
