It had been a long, hot day and I was finally heading home. Andy and Matthew stopped me on the street and requested that I photograph them. On this long, hot day full of almost nothing at all, these boys asked that I slow down and take a moment to notice their friendship. I almost hugged them.
One of the best things about my neighborhood is the sense of community. For many that community is centered around the stoop. Weekend days and evenings are spent sitting and socializing with friends and family and greeting the passers-by. This tradition has been around since the neighborhood was established in the 1800’s and it looks as though it will continue for many generations to come.
