“I started drinking when I was 21 and for 7 years I lived in The Bowery*.  If I could be 21 again, I’d do it differently.”

*From the 1940s-1970s the Bowery was known as NYC’s ‘skid row’; an area frequented mostly by alcoholics and homeless people.
